Dr Wendy Christien was introduced to Bio Energetic Stress (BEST) testing at a time in her life when she was looking for solutions for her own health concerns. Due to the wonderful insights she gained from doing the test and the improved lifestyle she gained by adhering to the recommendations made, she decided to make a career change and establish herself in 2005 as a qualified BEST practitioner.

Over the years amazing doors have opened for her, mainly due to her eagerness and ongoing drive to learn more about the human body and how it works, and how she could most effectively help and educate her clients. Her formal studies and education during this time led to her qualifications and certification in Bio Energetic Stress Testing (BEST), Iridology, Health Coaching, Nutrigenomics and First Line Therapy, and, most recently, her Ph.D. in Social Work: Wellness Healthcare and Counselling. Apart from this, she is registered as a Specialist Wellness Counsellor with the Association for Supportive Counsellors & Holistic Practitioners (ASCHP), and as a Holistic Health Practitioner with the South African Natural Health Practitioners Board (SANHPB). She is also an associate member of the South African Society of Integrated Medicine (SASIM).

The motivators

Wendy is guided by her belief in integrity and honesty, and in showing unconditional compassion and empathy. She loves nature and subscribes to being gentle with the environment and frugal with resources. She holds the view that people matter, that everyone has a voice and is worthy of respect, and that she has been blessed with the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others.

At the same time Wendy is also a high achiever who thrives when taking on and conquering a challenge. As a result, her focus is on ongoing personal and professional growth and development to be able to offer the best to her clients in the profession she has chosen, be it from a physical or health perspective, or from an emotional point of view.

Her biggest goal is to understand the individual, to help them with what they are contending with, and to facilitate a way forward. Part of this includes understanding the individual’s environment, being able to relate to their experiences, and being in a position to provide them with the knowledge and skills to make the required changes to work things out.

The basis of it all

And the basis for this is her firm belief in that mankind can only head away from illness and move towards wellness if they change their mindset and way of thinking about health. She is of the opinion that people are often stuck in illness because modern society has become conditioned to simply accept the considerable amount of health-related disinformation that is coming their way, instead of questioning the marketing newspeak that they are being spoon-fed.

“We have to take responsibility for our own health,” she says.  “But to do so, we must know and understand what’s going on in  our bodies, and have a holistic, health-enhancing lifestyle to ensure balance in our lives.”
