Sustainable fitness tips for 2026

SHARE POST:

As with food, which we discussed last week, we can often take on too much too soon when it comes to exercise. This often sets us back and can do more harm than good so is often short-lived.

With exercise it is best to start slowly and build on your ability as the weeks and months go by and your fitness improves. While transformation workouts work for some people, most people do better with movement that fits more easily into their daily lives. Consistency always beats intensity.

You can start with doing one of or a combination of the following:

  • 7000 –10 000 steps/day (+ 30 minutes walking)
  • 2–3 sessions/week of strength training
  • stretch or mobilise 5 minutes a day

Strength training helps to preserve our muscles and support our metabolism, while cardiovascular exercise helps for our circulation and mood.
